SATURDAY ITINERARY

Once again we will be kicking off in Seabrook, NH and cruising backroads to Boothbay Harbor, ME. We will kickoff in the same location as 2022 (Seabrook Commons), as there was plenty of places to get gas and grab a quick breakfast if people needed to. The screenshot shows the meetup point, circled in red. It is in the southwest corner of the parking lot.

The day will be broken up into two legs.

After leaving Seabrook, the route will take us directly to the coast for the most coastal driving ever, during a NERR event. Our first stop will be a visit to the Seashore Trolley Museum ( https://trolleymuseum.org/ ), which was the world's first and the LARGEST electric railway museum . Once leaving there we will make one more stop for gas/bathroom break, to conclude our first leg of the day.

Following our gas stop, we will be making a short ride, before stopping for a quick visit to our friends at Twisted Iron Customs ( https://www.twistedironcustoms.com/ ). Some of you have visited their old location with NERR, back in 2016. If you liked that stop last time, then you're in for a treat at the new place. After about an hour there, we will take a 15 minute backroad ride to our final stop of the day, at an old NERR favorite for food and beverage, the Boothbay Craft Brewery and Tavern ( https://www.boothbaycraftbrewery.com/watershed-tavern ). They are working on something different for us this year and will also possibly be bringing in some locals with their favorite rides. Along with grabbing food and beverage there, we are also going to run our 50/50 raffle there, instead of at the hotel, like we have in the past. From there, the weekend's host property is just a few minute's drive away.

SATURDAY NIGHT

We're doing something completely different. Right across the footbridge, there is a 129 year old opera house and they have a show going on that night. Our tickets are already bought and maybe some of you would like too join us also. What better way to enjoy and old venue like this, then to see a old time swing jazz band? We have taken a few NERR veterans here over the years and they all really liked the place. There aren't to many of these historic old venues left. Before the show, we always enjoy a few cold ones in their renovated upstairs bar.

Here is a link to one of the band's videos: https://youtu.be/NKped9LWX5k

Here is the link for tickets: https://boothbayoperahouse.com/event/the-hot-sardines-just-announced/

Lot more to come, but make sure you book your rooms and get tickets to the show, if you plan on joining us, before they're all gone.

SUNDAY ITINERARY

As it has now become a regular feature to this event, Sunday morning will consist of a short scenic drive of the surrounding area, that will leave plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the day for dining, shopping, boat cruises, etc.

SATURDAY ROUTES

Kickoff time is 8:30AM!!!

Leg 1:

While the route is less than 97 miles, it will be over 2 1/2 hours behind the wheel, because of all the secondary roads and coastal driving. Our first stop at the Trolley Museum is about 2 hours in. Our last stop on this leg, will be about 45 minutes after we leave the museum, for just a real quick fuel stop. There really should be no need for a bathroom break, so this will keep the day moving well.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Step 18 is a slight left onto Dutton Ave. This road is a split lane, so after step 17, cars will need to immediately get over to the left lane (less than 100 feet), to make their way onto Dutton.

Leg 2:

This route in only 45 miles long & will be just obout one hour behind the wheel. While most of this route is "boring" for NERR standards, we had to do it this way, to make up some time, because of how much stuff we packed into the day. The first leg of the day and Sunday morning's ride will more than make up for this one.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Step 10 on the route says we will be pulling onto Dodge Street, to enter Twisted Iron. Actually we will be pulling into Twisted about 200' before that & we will be pulling into their driveway, right from Route 1. When leaving Twisted we will pull back onto Route 1, then turning right onto Dodge Street afterwards.

SUNDAY ROUTE

Kickoff time is 9:00AM

Today's route is just a short 37 miles with about 1 hour & 20 minutes of scenic driving behind the wheel, with no stops along the way. Plenty of water views and coastal scenery on this one.

The route will start off heading toward West Boothbay Harbor, the heading south to Newagen. After turning back north, the drive will take everyone over a small bridge to Sawyer's Island, then cross another one, onto Hodgdon Island.

The group will then go over to Ocean Point by way of East Boothbay, before heading out to Linekin Neck towards Reeds Island, then turning back to our host property, so people can park their cars for the rest of the day and just enjoying more of the area by foot of boat.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Steps 19, 20 & 21 can be ignored because 115 Beath Rd is not really a stopping point for us. We just needed to use it to help mapping purposes

After Step 25, Bluebird Ocean Point was also just a waypoint used for mapping purposes, so it's not an actual stopping point for us

There’s Puffin sight seeing cruise on the Sunday morning that leaves out of Boothbay at 10am. I know that will very likely conflict with the morning car cruise, unless perhaps it’s considered part of it… anyhoo, puffins are cool and as far as I know it’s something new to do for the fellowship. https://www.boothbayboattrips.com/cruises/puffin-scenic-cruise/
