Kickoff location: Mt Wachusett A.I.S. (ass in seat) time is 9:30am. That's when we'll be pulling out of the parking lot and heading to Lake George. Most people show up early to hang out and converse a bit before heading out. Can't wait!

Mt Wachusett, MA to Fort William Henry Resort, Lake George, NY

Route link below. Reminder that this is a custom route via Google Maps and will not work as turn-by-turn directions on your phone. You need to open in on a PC and print it out (I know, how Neanderthal!) Or, if you want to spend 5 bucks, download the InRoute app (iPhone only) and I can email you a turn by turn route that can be used in InRoute. PM me your email through Facebook Messenger.

I've run this entire route and it is really great. Awesome scenery, some twisty roads and some straight roads. It may look like a TON of different roads and turns, but it's not too bad. I think, even on Saturday, we should be able to stay together as a group fairly easily, but that being said, I HIGHLY recommend printing the route and having a paper copy of the directions. You won't be able to see them on your phone (as stated above). InRoute works great if you want turn by turn navigation on your iPhone.

Highlights on this route!

1. It's awesome!

2. The beginning is a little bumpy (thanks Massachusetts) and the rest is very smooth.

3. Route 63 is amazing!

4. No highway!

5. Two gas stops / bathroom breaks. First one is about 60 minutes in and the second is about 30 minutes before our destination hotel.

During the last Two Bay Invasion Tours, we've set up a short morning drive on our second day in the area. The idea was so well received (especially this year) we also decided to do the same for our second day in Lake George.

The drive will only be 40 miles and take an hour and a quarter. This gives people a great chance to drive some of the area's side roads and still be back before most of the area's attractions are even open for the day.

The route will take us between the left side of the lake and the Interstate, with of course, ALL SIDE & BACKROAD DRIVING

A.I.S. (ass in seat) time will be 8:30 AM

Fort William Henry Resort to Capt Thomson's Resort, Alexandria Bay, NY

Today's drive will be our longest (mileage & time behind the wheel) of the entire event at just over 200 miles and 4 hours of driving.

This will be NERR's third visit to Alex Bay, but as always, we have changed up a lot of the route, compared to past visits to the area.

This is the first time Capt Thomson's will be the primary host for our visit. Views from our property, right on the shoreline of the St Lawrence river, include Boldt Castle and many of the closer islands.

While our previous lodging location has allowed us to be just a short walk to the area restaurants and shops, this time we are staying right on the same strip as most of them, so stumbling back top the hotel at the end of the night, will be much easier this time.

Once again there is no Interstate driving

There are 2 gas/restroom stops planned

Important notes......

1) Can skip steps 16 &17 in directions, because gas stop is actually right on Route 28 (which means destination will be on left), so there is no need to take the turn onto State Street

2) Can also skip step 25. When you look at map/directions you will easily understand.

A.I.S. (ass in seat) time will be 8:30 AM today, for our earliest start time of the entire event. This will hopefully allow us enough time to maybe take in a boat cruise or two.

Tuesday October 4, 2022

Alexandria Bay, NY to 41 Lakefront Hotel

Today's drive will be just short of our longest (mileage & time behind the wheel) with just 10 miles less driving and 4 minutes less time behind the wheel, than the previous day.

This will be NERR's second visit to the Finger Lakes area.

Our first stop of the day will take us to the Antique boat Museum in Clayton, NY. Instead of blasting there straight down the main roads, we will take a more leisurely ride along country roads with green pastures.

There is only 1 gas/restroom stop planned today. This will also allow us to re-group, because this part of the route will bring us through a few traffic lights, that could possibly get the group separated.

While NERR's regular routes most often drive through mountainous areas, this leg of the run will take us through some of the flatest landscape NERR has ever driven.

A.I.S. (ass in seat) time will be 9:30 AM today. The late start was dictated by the 10:00 opening of the museum.

Link to route:

Important notes......

1) Coming up to the museum, the main building will be on our right, but right before that there is a grassy lot on the left. Once again the museum has allowed us to use that area for our parking, instead of having to park on the street, or in their crushed stone lot. If you were with us last visit, you should remember the spot.

2) A.I.S. time for leaving the museum will be 11:30 AM, so make sure you don't get lost in one of their many exibit buildings and get left behind. that should give
everyone almost 1 1/2 hours to take it all in.

3) If anyone has had enough driving and wants to cut about a half-hour off their drive-time, all they need to do is stay on Route 20 W (step 30) and not turn onto
Route 89 S (Step 31). This will take you directly to the hotel, instead of taking the longer drive south between the lakes. Once we turn south onto Rte 20, I am no
longer taking the lead. Hollie and I are going to take our time to enjoy the scenery of driving along the shores of Cayuga and Seneca Lakes, while possibly making a
couple quick hits at some of the vineyards/wineries and breweries in the area.

Once at the hotel, restaurants, shops and breweries are just a short walk away, across the other side of Route 20
