For the last 18 years we have been telling people, DO NOT WAIT TO LONG TO BOOK YOUR ROOMS. Without fail, every year people think it's not a big deal if they wait and every year people learn, AFTER THE FACT, that they should have taken our advice.
We research our properties and the surrounding area more than most other road trip planners do & we believe the effort shows. While we can't guarantee everything will be perfect, we can say that we minimize the chances of bad things happening.

While this isn't an official night of NERR, many people come in early, to be close to kickoff on Saturday morning. We pretty much stopped setting anything up for this night, because sometimes some of the participants will find something they like and the rest usually follow.
NERR has nothing to do with this hotel. We did not set up a block & we don't know anything about the prices or information on it.
This was passed on to us by people that are attending our event in October. We were told that a few people have already booked here and that they found the rates very reasonable.
We are only sharing it here, in case there are others that would all like to stay in the same location for Friday night pre-kickoff activities. Friday night, pre-kickoff festivities.

For the second year in a row, we are starting at a new location for NERR. This will also be the first time booking in Connecticut during one of our events, which means that now we have stayed overnight, in every New England state except for one. We had to go with a chain once again, for our first night, because they seem to be almost the only ones in recent years, that will bend the "two-night minimum" rules for us, on a Saturday night stay
We started with only a 20 room block, but the property is more than willing to add more as needed, IF they still have inventory, up until the book closing date. If you are calling the hotel directly, mention the code NERR to book at our rate, or you can just use the link below

For night number two, we are returning to a property we last stayed at close to a decade ago.
The last time NERR stayed here, it was mid-week, so hoping this time the area will be a little more lively, with more places open downtown.
Located on beautiful Otsego Lake, just 1 1/2 blocks to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Main Street. There is a restaurant and bar on site, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, in-season from Mid-May to Columbus Day. The Lake Front Hotel is also home of the only boat tour on the lake, the Glimmerglass Queen.

We can safely say that this hotel is on par with the Riverwalk Resort that we stayed at in Lincoln, NH, during our second night of 2025's event. This property is located right on the southern tip of Seneca Lake, in New York's Finger Lakes region
We originally got group rates starting at over $300/night and up, but then we reworked them and got one rate of $279/night (plus tax)
There is one catch......... This block will end earlier than most, which will be in early August of 2026. The reason for that, is because I had to work it in a way so they would remove their normal attrition clause. Another thing we had to bend on, was our guaranteed block size.
Our block only consists of 15 rooms, which we should fill very easily and will go REALLY fast! As a comparision, our smallest number at any of the properties in 2025 was 23 rooms. Once this block is filled, the property is willing to add more rooms, AS LONG AS THEY STILL HAVE SOME IN INVENTORY.

This one didn't go as planned, as we wanted to go south to a certain property in PA, but the property we wanted to use couldn't confirm with us until next February and that just doesn't work for planning.
No worries though as we are returning to the Water's Edge Inn ( http://www.watersedgeinn.com/ ) , located in Old Forge, NY. This will be NERR's third time here and first time back since 2020, when COVID really screwed things up for us.
It seems that this place always gives people long lasting memories of their stay here, with a couple past participants saying this was one of their favorite places we have stayed. Who remembers the Gilligan's Island ride?
Anyway, We've got two different room options, with both being just over $150.00/night (plus tax). One option is 2 double beds and the other is 2 double queens. I believe they both have water views
. When booking, if you mention our account number (#2320) it will make things easier. They property will be releasing rooms from the block on September 1st (if there are still rooms available), so don't wait to long, because we have a pretty great rate here
